There is massive upset this week within Mayo Camogie at the news that the Minor Camogie Championship is to be cancelled.
Mayo Camogie County Board Chair, Rosemary Smith, has told the Mayo News
We had huge hopes for our Minors. They were doing serious training all throughout the winter. They’ve played together since Under-14 level. It brought the girls together and they got to know each other, instead of constantly playing against each other. They’re a mighty unit.

The 2020 Minor team had started the competition in early March with a win against Wicklow away. This was huge victory for the Mayo team as Wicklow has at least nine camogie clubs.
Mayo among other counties have appealed the decision and the outcome is awaited with hope.
