The Mayo U16 team have reached the final of the Tesco U16 Championship.
In a very wet, warm and humid PJ Duke Park in Stradone, Cavan our Mayo players proved worthy of their place in the semi-final.
They fought for ball all over the pitch and with strong team play and during the first quarter Mayo had scored 2 goals and 1 point to Louth’s 1 goal.
During the second quarter Mayo stepped up a gear and really began to put their mark on the match, scoring another 2 goals and 4 point, while Louth were unable to add to their 1 goal.

After half time Louth brought renewed energy to the match and it was a heart racing second half. Mayo added another 3 points to the scoreboard, which shows how much Louth stepped up in the second half adding 2 goals and a point to their tally.
The work rate that Mayo players put in throughout the match was fantastic and will serve them well in the final against Wicklow.
