Mayo Minors Give Great Performance in Cavan

The spectators who were at the Tesco Minor Championship match in Cavan were treated to a great match in which every player gave a fantastic performance.

Even though Cavan got the opening score of the match, Mayo settled well into the match and dominated the first half outscoring Cavan by 1.6 to 0.2.

Cavan bookended the half with their scores, but Mayo’s forward line and midfield players scored throughout the first half and looked at ease and confident in their play.

While Cavan may not have played to their best during the first half, they were keen to make amends for that in the second half. Mayo enjoyed some great runs of play and their defensive lines were kept busy by regular Cavan attacks.

Cavan had a lot of momentum towards the end of play in the second half and it was a last minute goal that put them one point ahead for victory.

Mayo will take a lot from this match and build on the experience for the next round.

Mayo are to meet Donegal in the next round of the championship on Sunday 8th August and will have home advantage.
