Our Minor team have had a great season and are in the final next weekend. Read on for a breakdown of their journey to the final.
Round 1 – Mayo V Tyrone – 25th July 2021
Result – Mayo 5.10 Tyrone 0.04

The first round of the Minor Championship got underway in late July. The Mayo team were keen to make their mark and that they did. Their display against Tyrone showed confidence, team unity and high skill levels.

Round 2 – Cavan V Mayo – 1st August 2021
Result – Cavan 2.07 Mayo 1.09

Even though Cavan secured a victory on this occasion with a last minute goal, the Mayo team looked at ease with their play and it was again a confident performance against tough opposition.

Round 3 – Mayo V Donegal – 8th August 2021
Result – Mayo 9.15 Donegal 0.0

Mayo’s first touch and consistent finishing led to the win over Donegal in early August. The scoreline didn’t reflect Donegal’s work rate all around the pitch and they had some great passages of play.

Semi-Final – Mayo V Wicklow – 22nd August 2021
Result – Mayo 1.19 Cavan 2.12 (AET)

Without doubt a great match from all perspectives – great skill on show, teamwork, tough physical encounters and amazing scores. Mayo showed great determination and forced this match to extra time, a player down. During extra time their skill and composure led to a great victory and a place in the Tesco Minor Championship C Final.
