Westport were the winners today of the Mayo U14 Development League Final. Played in lovely conditions and great sunshine it was a fantastic game of camogie.
The match threw in at 11am and Mel Kenny officiated.

Westport were strong from the outset, but Castlebar Mitchels played for each and every ball – showing great determination.
Throughout the match the Westport girls played with skill, composure and confidence and their teamplay was superb with communication and support play evident all over the pitch.

Some great runs of play from Castlebar and they certainly challenged the Westport defensive lines on a few occasions. Their midfield players won lots of ball and were proficient in the air.

It is certain that the future of camogie in both Westport and Castlebar is looking very bright and we are all looking forward to seeing all of these players progress through their camogie careers.
