The U16 County Development League Final was held in Westport in dry conditions this morning. Referee Mel Kenny got the action started at 10.30am.

Both teams eager to get the match underway, Westport began the stronger and led possession from the outset. Na Brideoga took a little while to settle into the match but once they did and got some scores on the board, momentum swung in their favour.
The scoreline was domimated by Na Brideoga at the beginning of the second half after some great goals and clinical finishing by their forwards. Westport worked hard to try and add to their scoreline and were beginning to pull back the lead Na Brideoga had built up.

The match was fast paced with strong performances all over the pitch from both teams. The midfield players work rate was phenomenal and defensive lines for both teams kept many scores out. Westport never gave up and played with conviction until the final whistle.

Along with great individual performances, both sides showed fantastic teamwork and support play. However, Na Brideoga were well-deserving winners on the day.
