Claremorris Camogie Club Scoop National Development Award

Claremorris Camogie Club have been awarded a Club Development Award by the Camogie Association in light of their hard work in getting their new club up and running.

The journey began in April 2021 when five representatives from Claremorris Camogie Club met with Liam Clancy the Club Development Award coordinator. The club were given the opportunity to participate in the Club Development Award initiative.

There was work to be done in four areas or chapters and we had to select a project from a set list to complete in each chapter.

The chapters were; 1. The Game, 2. Volunteers, 3. Identity and 4. Building Constructive Relationships. As the CDA initiative is in it’s infancy the club were unsure of what exactly lay ahead but took on the challenge enthusiastically and hoped that it could only be a positive experience for the new club.

Throughout the season the Committee, Coaches and players all did what was required by the Award coordinators to help the club achieve this accolade. All work was recorded and documented throughout the season and all were delighted with the end result.

As a club everyone is are delighted with all that has been achieved and having the template of the CDA to follow really helped keep everyone focused on each project.

It is a credit to the hardworking and dedicated committee at Claremorris Camogie Club that they all shared the workload in order to achieve this goal. They met with some unexpected challenges along the way but navigated those successfully.

Everyone in Mayo Camogie is delighted that the Claremorris Camogie Club have been so successful.
