Today’s Tesco Minor Championship Semi-Final was expected to be a good game, but what everyone got was a great game – intense, hard-hitting, physical, skillful and fast.
The Mayo minor team have earned their place in the Championship semi-final after three matches in their group stages with two victories under their belts.
Mayo travel to Raharney in Westmeath to take on Louth in the Nancy Murray Cup Semi-Final on Saturday next 21st August.
The Mayo U14 team had a long journey to Omagh in Co Tyrone to play in the National U14 Development Games yesterday.
Both Mayo and Tyrone had recorded solid victories against Donegal in advance of this final group game. Having already acquitted themselves well in the league, it was anticipated that Saturday’s pairing would be a closely fought affair. It certainly didn’t disappoint.
The Mayo U14 team travel along with their management team to Omagh tomorrow to play Tyrone in the National Games Programme.
Mayo will face Tyrone in the Nancy Murray Cup on Saturday 14th August at 1pm in Tooreen. Both sides have each had a victory in the competition and are equal on points. As scoring difference is all that separates them, it promises to be an exciting fixture.
